Project Name: The Skatepark Grafitti Project
Project Phase: Final Phase
Aims: To enhance the Skateboard Park wall and floorscape with graffiti styled artwork in collaboration with pupils from Chantry and Newminster Middle Schools, King Edward VI High School and facility users.
Objectives
  • To encourage participants to explore themes suitable for inclusion in the Art Feature and research the evolution of ‘Graffiti Art’
  • Enable each participant to produce a piece of artwork for collective or individual permanent display within their school.
  • Select a range of individual designs for incorporation into the Skateboard Park wall and floorscape Art Feature.
  • Facilitate the inclusion of pupils and ‘facility users’ in the creation of the wall and floorscape Art Feature under the guidance of a Community Artist specialising in Graffiti Art

    The Project objectives will be achieved through the provision of three one day school consultation workshops and three one day practical onsite workshops, enabling school pupils to work with the ‘Graffiti Artist’.

    The artist will work a total of eight days on site including one Saturday afternoon practical workshop (wallscape work only) to enable those facility users, not accessed through the school consultation, to contribute to the wall and floorscape art feature.
