Stobhillgate County First School is located between the Stobhillgate housing estate and Green Lane. Children attending are aged 5-9 years old, (Reception – Year 4). The school also incorporates a nursery facility for children 3-5 years.

To the rear of the school lies an area of land previously used as a school garden. Adjacent to this was sited a Porto-cabin which has since been removed.

The aim of the project is to reclaim this disused land and create an active play area and a cognitive play area to include a wooden art feature (the story telling tree) and soft planting as well as play equipment, suitable surfacing and fencing.

There is also a need to create a vehicular access gate on the boundary marked and two pedestrian gates to enable community and school access. It is envisaged that the facility will be open to the community at set times with maintenance and management responsibilities remaining with Stobhillgate School.
