Aims:

To produce an external mural of area 15ft x 6ft depicting a design prepared by King Edward VI High School pupils’ working to a theme provided and approved by Morpeth Town Council

Objectives

Create a design in conjunction with King Edward VI High School pupils’ for approval by M.T.C representative, taking into consideration material health and safety aspects attached to production of the mural and its ongoing maintenance.

The aim of the project is to encourage those pupils’ selected for participation by King Edward VI High School to develop the following:-
• Preparation of a design to a specified brief.
• Develop awareness of material suitability, performance and durability specific to the surface to be covered
• Develop an awareness of health and safety issues relative to the project brief.
• Develop a sense of community ownership through participation and teamwork.
• Develop those areas of curricular knowledge relative to the design brief.
• Facilitate collaborative working and enhance social interaction.
